Through Soul to Soul Foundation she joins
courageous efforts to reach those who suffer mental
health issues in silence, with raising awareness, educating, and supporting those who
have a loved one plagued by such painful issues. It was through her compassion and empathy that Soul to Soul Foundation was born. It is her desire that by inspiring other souls to participate and connect with one another a shift will occur in our culture, healing will take place, lives will be saved, and we can all move forward in hope.
Michelle Cox, Vice President of Development of Soul to Soul Foundation approaches the pressing need for effective mental health care from the other side of the issue. In August 1999, her beloved older brother, Brian Doxey, took his life at the age of 23. He had been suffering from severe depression for eight years and was not receiving professional help. Michelle is committed to the goal of reaching out to those in pain and preventing the deep sorrow of mourning by providing means for individuals to receive effective mental health care and emotional support.
